The 830 series is the largest monohull kit in the Sherwood Marine range - an 8.35 metre plate aluminium boat with four layouts to choose from: the 830HT hardtop at $34,640 excluding GST, the 830HTX extended hardtop at $35,070, the 830CAB full cab at $35,460 and the 830XCAB extended cab at $36,240.

The hull is 8.35 m long and 8.76 m overall on a 2.70 m beam, built from 6 mm bottom plate, 4 mm sides, 3 mm decks and 3 and 4 mm cabin. From the same family of hulls as the 780 series, effective deadrise is 20.5 degrees, the deck is self-draining and cockpit depth is 0.67 m. Fuel capacity is 650 litres and person capacity is eight. Maximum power is 400 hp with 300 to 400 hp recommended, or twin outboards of 150 to 200 hp each.

Up from the 780, the 830 series gains the XCAB model, with a longer pilothouse, giving genuine liveaboard volume for overnighting, a separate shower/WC, extended trips and family use. With 650 litres of fuel and carrying capacity for eight people that can be traded-off for stores, the 830XCAB is the perfect boat for that long trip.
